Dagora Battle System

This project is still in development. If you are looking for a game to play, sorry, but you won't find anything here. If you're interested in helping out with development, read on.

The Dagora Battle System is an open source, object-oriented turn-based battle system for a role-playing video game, similar to the Final Fantasy series, for example. When completed, it will feature both playable and non-playable characters, standard and special attacks, summoning monsters, item use, and special "adrenaline rush" attacks when a character is near death.

The DBS is currently implemented in Java to facilitate cross-platform compatability, especially with graphics. While the current version is text-only, plans are to use the Abstract Window Toolkit to display two-dimensional graphics similar to the Super Nintendo or Game Boy Advance.

The DBS is the first step towards creating a structure for a full-featured, cross-platform role playing game. It is designed to be intuitive for the end-user, and organized enough so that someone with limited programming knowledge can still crate their own game using the Dagora structure. The scope of this project is purposly limited at the outset to two-dimensional graphics to help keep the system simple and keep development focused on creating a quality product overall.

Okay, now that the description is out of the way, here's the links.
